The existing construction has been restored while adding a new building with indoor pool, spa area, rooms and suites. The Mohr Life Resort is a successful combination of modern architecture and traditional values. The use of domestic materials creates a cosy atmosphere which gives the hotel a warm and personal flair. We have created a perfect blend of the traditional Tyrolean style with modern design by using both traditional materials such as antiquely brush-finished stone pine and modern accessories such as flat screens. Fluffy carpets have been combined with stone walls, etc.
The contrast of the elements is reflected in many details: We have used modern RGB light to illuminate the swimming pool while surrounding it with a great deal of antique furniture. The so-called bird`s nests which are situated on a platform above the pool allow a most impressive view of the Zugspitze thanks to panorama glazing.
The fascinating view of the mountains made transparency an important theme of the entire project. You can find huge panorama windows in the rooms, the spa and the pool area. Even most of the beauty treatment rooms have terraces to create a more spacious atmosphere. Yet there are many places to relax and retreat to maintain the cosiness of the beauty and spa area.
The 1,800 square metres spa area includes a 17 metres indoor pool featuring panoramic view and levitating relaxation areas. At the salt-water outdoor pool visitors can enjoy both the wonderful mountain air and an excellent view of the alpine scenery. Further attractions are the herbal sauna, the outdoor sauna with panorama glazing, the steam room, the fire room, the whirlpool bath and solariums. A separate children`s area includes an indoor pool for children featuring the “bear`s den”.
The beauty area comprises nine treatment rooms, two light and sound beds, a hydro jet bath, a floating bed and rooms for manicure and pedicure.
The Mohr Life Resort features a very special attraction for its female visitors: At the ladies spa women only can experience total relaxation in an atmosphere of Arabian Nights. A secluded sauna and Moorish-style herbal steam room, as well as cosy relaxation areas invite to relax and unwind.

Challenge
We have been asked to create a modern design hotel with a certain ambience, avoiding however the cool atmosphere that is usually associated with design hotels. At the same time we were asked to maintain certain traditional elements. So we had to balance innovations and familiar things without intimidating the hotel guests. The objective was to inspire enthusiasm in the guest so that he will be glad to visit again and recommend the Mohr Life Resort to his friends.
